Following our live-streamed Kipling #15 auction, “Prelude”, later that same afternoon, our Kipling #16 auction, “Heartbeat” will focus on charity and giving.
Within a single catalog, several causes come together: first and foremost those championed by 12 de Cœurs association and Reload foundation, which, through meticulous work over several years, have brought together for you today—directly from the estates—a remarkable selection, with a promise: to combine solidarity, generosity, and excellence. The auction stands out for the richness and diversity of its lots, allowing everyone—from major collectors to enthusiasts—to participate as they wish: here, every contribution counts! Beyond the quality of the wines offered, the funds raised during this sale will be donated to Restos du Cœur and the Reload Foundation.
To this end, a carefully curated and prestigious selection has been assembled, offering enthusiasts a unique opportunity to acquire both older vintages—including, among others, a 1971 La Tâche from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, a magnum of 1961 Musigny from Jadot, a 1929 Clos des Mouches, a 1947 Clos des Fèves from Domaine Chanson, and 1970, 1973, and 1976 Richebourg from Domaine Méo-Camuzet! Contemporary Burgundy is not to be outdone, with a fine selection of Grands Crus including: Clos de Vougeot, Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Richebourg, and iconic wines from Domaines Thibault Liger-Belair, Fourrier, Faiveley, Lafon, and Leflaive...
The great wines of Bordeaux enrich this collection with must-have selections, including Château Angélus 2010, Margaux 2010, and the exceptional Petrus, available in rare sizes such as a 1988 imperial bottle. The Rhône Valley also shines with legendary vintages from Guigal, Beaucastel, and Chave. The diversity of terroirs is further expressed through magnificent Alsace wines (Trimbach, Weinbach), iconic Loire wines such as Coulée de Serrant, as well as wines from the South, Provence, and Languedoc. Champagne enthusiasts will be captivated by prestigious cuvées such as Cristal 2009, Dom Pérignon, and rare formats from Billecart-Salmon and Salon.
A second section of the sale highlights an exceptional selection of wines offered directly from the estates, thanks to the generosity of numerous winemakers. These cuvées, sourced directly from their cellars, offer perfect authenticity and traceability, while reflecting the diversity and excellence of the great terroirs. Prestigious Italian names such as Marchesi Antinori(Tignanello, Solaia) and Tenuta San Guido (Sassicaia) stand alongside Spanish icons like Vega Sicilia and Álvaro Palacios. Burgundy is magnificently represented here with selections from Domaine François Gaunoux, Domaine Dujac, and other leading names from the Côte de Nuits, while Alsace shines through a remarkable collection of wines from Domaine Zind-Humbrecht, offered in a wide variety of vintages and bottle sizes. Italy also stands out with an impressive series of Barolos from Domaine Oddero, including vertical tastings and large-format bottles, while rare spanish bottles from Bodegas Toro Albalá round out the collection with historic vintages of unique depth. The Loire Valley is not to be outdone with wines from Domaine Belargus, and other notable producers enrich this selection, offering a faithful panorama of Europe’s rich wine heritage.
In this specific initiative, the proceeds from the auction will be donated directly to the participating estates, in recognition of their commitment and to provide tangible support for their work. This gesture of solidarity, working closely with the winemakers, gives each bid a special significance.
We have also chosen to celebrate our 10th anniversary by giving you the chance, amongst other things, to relive together the superb vintages that have left their mark on both our memories and the history of Baghera! We are therefore offering you a superb selection of flagship vintages from the Jayer and Bouchard estates, guaranteeing full traceability and perfect storage of all wines sourced directly from the estate, from the ‘Henri Jayer The Heritage’ sale in June 2018 and ‘La Romanée Memories 1862–2005’ in April 2021 right up to the present day. All the wines have been stored continuously since their auction in the same Baghera warehouse located in the Geneva Free Ports.
These various commitments lend this sale a profoundly human dimension, reminding us that wine, beyond pleasure and sharing, can also become a powerful vehicle for solidarity.
